They sent two different electricians to repair; neither did. I still do not have the outlet working after paying for the $75.00 fee. Warranty claim for a pool heater was denied.
The first contractor they sent out told me it was repaired after 3 weeks, though is still wasn't working. I had an outside contractor look at it and he said NOTHING had been done, and he told me exactly what was wrong with it. When AHS sent out their second contractor I told them what was wrong with it and he told me there was no way I could know!

No one there will give me the number to contact finance or their managers or anyone in the legal department. Now you have to file your claim officially. Many courts willrequire you to physically come to the courthouse during specific hours and days to hand-deliver the forms to the court’s clerk. This can be a better option for a lot of regular people.

On July 10, 2017 my tenants contacted me, saying that the inside of the house was not cooling and remained around 86 degrees. I contacted my home warranty, American Home Shield. A technician came out the next day, flushed the system and added coolant. Within a few days, my compressor had over-heated and the house was hotter. So, I had to wait another day for another technician supplied by AHS.

The Armstrongs claim that the 1995 “average contract cost” should have been compiled from all of AHS's Texas pool/spa contracts. I've been requesting services on my heat pump since 2004 nearly every year to-date. AHS has provided only enough assistance to keep the unit working. Now that the heat pump needs to be replaced, they are accusing me of failing to provide maintenance and has denied my request for a replacement pump. The unit is literally falling apart because they only would send techs out who agreed to do the bare minimum to keep it running and no more.
They kept sending out an a/c guy that never fixed the unit. AFTER multiple visits in one week SUDDENLY the unit freezes up and now has leaked refrigerant out and they want me to pay $1200 for coil replacement (over $500 for the refrigerant.) and the rest bogus "code violations". PLUS they are trying to collect another $75 service call fee that multiple reps have said is an error and are going to correct. They act in bad faith and should be stopped.
That tech said that the compressor had been over heated because of the actions of the first technician. The AC still didn't work, so I had to wait a few more days for a third technician supplied by AHS. This tech said that the compressor needed to be replaced. My air conditioner went out on June 14, 2017. I called AHS and as of today, September 09, 2017, it has been 12 weeks & 1 day since I notified AHS.
My wife and I purchased our home in Sept of 2007 it was our first home. We were so excited and when we saw that the home had a low voltage system for the lights we were concerned but both AHS and the Realtor reassured us that it was covered and if there was problems just to call. Of course two months after purchasing the house all the lights in house were stuck on. We called AHS and it took seven days because they were sending an electrician from Illinois or Ohio to service our need. When the man got to our home all he did was bang on the box in the basement for an hour and talk to some one on the phone for 2 hours and then told us he could not fix it. The problem was one of the switches was stuck.
Send your claim to a lawyer who will review your claim at NO COST or obligation. AHS is a coordinated institutional failure driving people to the boiling point I fear an active shooter will show up at their HQ at some point. My advise to ALL OF YOU is to contact an attorney early on, and document everything. Getting ready to take AHS up on a "buy out" over a very bad and wrongly handled AC situation. Have State attorney watching (GOP-owned and may not come through), State Congress friend, and my local attorney watching.
That was on July 24, 2017, and the second contractor has not completed the repairs. I have been through the record breaking summer without air and it has been miserable affecting my health. I would advise anyone to not get American Home Shield. The only reason I continue to spend my own time pursuing this issue is because I believe too many people get worn down by these types of businesses and they just give up. Then the next person who comes along has to deal with the same thing!
They sell a variety of plans that are supposed to cover problems that might come up with various issues with your home or home appliances—anything from roof repairs to electrical systems to the air conditioning. In this case, two individuals sued the company over fraud and negligent misrepresentation. According to the court documents, they entered into fixed rate agreements with the company, but the company changed the contracts without warning. As contractors working for the company, the claim was, they were not sufficiently compensated for their work, which represented a breach of contract. The same air conditioner unit has been serviced 17 times over the last year.
